Bill is using a filbert brush on the grapes. That’s how he’s getting those lovely rounded shapes with that “flick” motion. I found this out many years ago, when I entered a competition to design a wine label. The flat brush let me down, and didn’t make those lovely soft, rounded marks. When I used that same flick motion that Bill uses on his grapes, using my filbert brush, then I painted beautiful grapes.
