https://vimeo.com/150133417 https://vimeo.com/155485303 https://vimeo.com/391765003 Bill was always looking out for his students. As one who did not have a lot of money early in his career, Bill learned to make his paint last. The problem with painting wet-on-wet, of course, is your brush gets "dirty". It picks up the still wet paint from the layer on which you are … [Read more...]

The most forgiving medium!

For some reason a lot of folks fear oil paints. And yet, oils are the most forgiving medium, as Bill demonstrates in this video clip. Yes, oils take a long time to dry, but that's what allows you to change your mind even days after you finish a painting. By reversing this process, at the bottom of the canvas, … [Read more...]

“…as dry as you can have it!”

Why does the brush have to be dry? This is an important question with which many wet-on-wet painters struggle. Bill says, "It's (the brush) got to be dry otherwise we can not paint on that!" Paint on what? Bill is talking about that bottom layer of paint. Wet-on-wet is about painting in layers...paint on top of paint. As Alexander Master Artist Tom Anderson states in our … [Read more...]

There is a better tomorrow!

Bill talked about "a better tomorrow" in many of his videos. He saw a lot of tragedy in his life. He faced obstacles that would make most people cower in fear. Yet he overcame those obstacles and brought a message of hope that all of us would work together to make this world a better place. … [Read more...]
