Bill was captured shortly after D-Day and sent to a prisoner of war camp in Marseilles where he spent the rest of the war. We tell his story about that experience in “The Bill Alexander Story”. Bill endeared himself to his captors and they set him up with his own art studio. Bill became popular by painting portraits of the officers and their wives. He also began his teaching career there. In this video clip he explains how long it took him to create his portraits.
