Let’s review. The bottom layer is too thick. That’s why the thick paint Bill used to highlight the mountain slipped. A thin paint sticks to a thicker paint, so Bill has to thin down the highlight paint. He chooses Magic White™ to do that. He could also have used a bit of clear oil. In other Bill videos, he also used paint thinner, but we hope you don’t use toxic chemicals like paint thinner anymore!

There’s a delicate balancing act of using just enough to thin the paint, but not too much so it becomes runny (and won’t break). Bill demonstrates how to do it.
