Less is More!
There are several things to learn from today’s Video Tip.
Key Points To Consider:
- The background layer is thin.
- Bill uses a thin layer of paint to put the base on the distant mountains.
- He adjusts the color of the distant mountains and adds dimension by adding VanDyke Brown to the mixture.
- There is very little paint in Bill’s brush.
- He presses lightly.
- He adds Titanium White using his Fan Brush to highlight the distant hills. He touches softly and deliberately.
- Notice that Bill touches the canvas sparingly. He doesn’t go over the same spot once he has placed the color unless he wants to work the color into the background color.
- Bill is quite passionate about not over-working your painting.
Happy Painting!
