Daily Tips Day 4 Tom

It All Begins With The Right Foundation

Wet-On-Wet painting has been around for centuries! Thank goodness for modern technology and Bill Alexander, because now we all know about it.

As I’ve said before, Bill taught and inspired millions to learn to paint, and many have gone on and done the same. The world is a better place because of it. That was Bill’s mission that we continue today.

No one on the planet has studied Bill’s techniques as much as Tom Anderson. Tom is a lifelong learner and didn’t stop there. He has spent the past several decades studying the techniques of the old masters as well. Combining old and new painting techniques is Tom’s specialty though his passion is sharing them with others.

In today’s short video Tom is preparing the canvas with Magic White to paint his version of one of Monet’s famous paintings, “Cliffwalk at Pourville.” (You might see other clips from this video in the future.)

You are in for a treat today though, as he demonstrates how to apply the Magic White he gives us a little “old masters” history lesson.

KEY POINTS TO WATCH FOR:

  • Tom uses environmentally friendly, no toxins, beautifully formulated Magic White.®
  • He applies the paint onto the canvas generously and then removes the excess.
  • He takes his time, ensuring that the canvas is evenly and fully covered.
  • He has no fear and neither, should we!

Please enjoy today’s short video.

Happy Painting!

Laurie and Dawn
