What Does Imagination Have To Do With It?
Today’s Video Tip will start a series of tips by Buck Paulson. Bill and Buck are walking along our old favorite walking trail. This trail is in Minto Brown Park, in Salem Oregon and it follows the edge of the Willamette River. The Willamette River flows north to the Columbia River and then out to the Pacific Ocean.
It looks like a nice sunny day. Buck and Bill are discussing the landscape as they walk along the path. Bill does what Bill loves to do, he watches for fish to jump! We know it isn’t morning time because Bill is talking about how great it would be to see the lights and shadows that are created earlier in the day. Have you noticed that Bill is always thinking of light and shadows?
Buck sketches the scene while Bill talks about how because they are artists, they can change the scene to Winter! Bill comments that a camera can’t do that. The camera would have to take the photo during the Winter! Well, with the fancy cameras of today this may be different, I don’t know.
At the end of the clip, you will see what Buck will do with the sketch he creates. isn’t it wonderful to be an artist and to be able to use our imagination to change or add to our composition? Don’t be afraid to use your imagination. You may love what you see but even if you don’t it will be a great learning experience!
Happy Painting!
