Into The Snow Part 3
This video is the third part of “Into The Snow” by Tom Anderson. Again, not only can you follow along to create a beautiful painting but you will learn some great tips as well. Tom is not only a Master Artist, but he is also a Master Teacher.
Paints and Brushes used in this project are as follows:

- Oil Colors for “Into The Snow” by Tom Anderson.Highlighting Yellow, Permanent Red, Alizarin Crimson, Phthalo Green, Burnt Umber, Phthalo Blue, Violet. (Tom is using Alexander Ultramarine Blue that is not available yet. You can mix Phthalo Blue and a little Violet to make this color.)
- Alexander Brushes/Palette Knife.
1″ Brush, Flexible Palette Knife, Medium Fan Brush, Red Sable Brush, Round Brush, Script Liner Brush.

As an older newbie to painting I was just wondering that if we paint along with Tom each day when we receive the next instalment video, the magic white applied to the canvas in the first place will have become drier and therefore less slick or useable as we progress through the project. Would it not be better to wait until we have all the video instalments before we even think about starting the painting?
I would just like to add that I think Tom as an instructor, for me anyway is just brilliant, along with being such an exceptionally clever and talented artist.

You make a very good point! Yes, sometimes the Magic White tends to dry depending on the climate and time of year. You could wait if you want until you have all of the videos. I will make each one a little longer but I am trying to break them at a natural point in the video.
You will hear Tom say often, if he could he would wait a day or two to add highlights. Highlights always go on easier if the paint has tacked up some. If we hadn’t been filming this in one sitting, Tom would have preferred to let the painting set between steps.
